- A Ph.D. is not easy and NOT for everybody!
- A Ph.D. can take 5 years or sometimes more. And you really need to ask yourself if you want to dedicate that much time doing research!
- Try doing research and decide for youself if you can do a Ph.D. If you havent done any prior research then first do it and then see if you like it because research like Ph.D. isn't for everyone!.
- A Ph.D. requires perseverance, PATIENTS and loads of hard work. You need to be obsesed with solving problem and go to any extent to do so. It might take so long that at some point you might get frustrated too, which is why you will surely tranform into a stonger individual after a Ph.D.
- Don't do a Ph.D just cause you are unsure what to do next! Unlike other graduate level studies, Ph.D. actually pays and hence might seem like the easiest option, but do think carefully before deciding and have a set vision and goal for yourself. See what other who are currently doing a Ph.D. in your field have to say. See what people who have already finished a Ph.D. have to say. Talk to as many people as you can and learn from their experiences.
